This past Monday, at the GVI/BGMC – EMS QI Meeting, a pilot program intended to facilitate faster response times for acute stroke patients was introduced.

Effective Monday December 1, 2014 when an EMS provider provides pre-arrival notification for a stroke patient and reports all key elements of the pre-arrival notification, the GVI/BGMC stroke team will be activated to meet the EMS provider and patient in triage.

An official notification and reference for EMS providers is included with this Email.  Please communicate this information to your EMS team members.

As always we welcome your feedback and are available to answer any questions. Thank you for your support.
