Lake Plains Community Care Network is offering the course AMLS. Sponsored by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) and endorsed by the National Association of EMS Physicians (NAEMSP), AMLS offers a “think-outside-the-box” method of assessing and managing a patient in medical crisis.

It emphasizes using scene size up, interactive group discussion on potential treatment strategies, history, and probabilities in diagnosing a patient’s medical problem. AMLS implements an initial assessment based approach that progresses to a diagnostic based approach to develop a treatment plan for a specific medical condition. The interactive/case based lectures include the following topics: Patient Assessment, Airway Management, Assessment of the Shock Patient, Dyspnea/Respiratory Failure, Chest Pain, altered Mental Status, and Abdominal Pain.
